Module 1 – How to Design in CMOS/BiCMOS Technology

Description

This module is designed to give the necessary background with respect to the technology and the influence of technology on analog design. At the present, there are five lessons that make up  Module 1.  The first 3 lessons deal with technology and specifically the XFAB 350nm CMOS technology.  The last 2 lessons show how to use Electric and NGSpice in the Efabless environment.

Lesson 1  – Deals with how to use  the technology correctly and efficiently.

Lesson 2 – Talks about how to choose W and L in order to optimize the performance.

Lesson 3 – Describes the XFAB 350nm CMOS technology and gives some model parameters to help in device selection.

Lesson 4 – Shows the designer how to use Electric in the Efabless design environment to capture a schematic in preparation for simulation.

Lesson 5 – Shows the designer how to use NGSpice in the Efabless design environment to do simulation.

Lesson 6 – Shows how to extract the model parameters for a given device
