This lecture describes three design procedures for designing the bias current in a cascode configuration to be independent of VDD. The first design procedure, BV3, uses a straight-forward extension of design procedure BV1 to bias the cascode configuration. The second design procedure, BV4, uses cascode current mirrors using self biasing to achieve more precise current mirroring. The third design procedure, BV5, is similar to BV3 but uses BJTs to establish the current. Each design procedure is illustrated with an example.
